In honor of Kristin Joyce, this coming Wednesday we will screen The Journey of Natty Gann, a movie that combines two of my most thrilling childhood fantasies: running away from home, and having a wolf for a pet. Didn't every kid at one time dream of doing both of these things? Well, thanks to Disney, we were all able to live vicariously through the characters in live action films, characters who would become our heroes and in so
me ways, our imaginary friends, characters like Natty Gann, and the guy played by John Cusack. Before I ever knew of him as the nerdy teenage heartthrob he was, I knew him as the totally cool train-riding hobo from this movie.

I love this trailer. Just when you think it's over it keeps going. It's so thrilling: "An adventure that made the impossible come true!" That's right, they spoil the end. She finds her dad. And her dad is played by the same guy who played dead Laura Palmer's dad in Twin Peaks. Weird.
